Each month, “tour” Baltimore with Dr. Kate Drabinski.

In August 1885, Baltimore became the first city in the United States to have a commercially operated electric streetcar. Join Dr. Kate Drabinski to learn about the history of Baltimore's streetcar, bus, subway, and light rail systems and the politics and economics of moving people around the city.

Bio: Kate Drabinski is Principal Lecturer in Gender, Women's, + Sexuality Studies and Director of the WILL+ Program (Women Involved in Learning) at UMBC. Her research and teaching interests include feminist and queer theory, feminist activism, and the history of Baltimore City.
