Description:  What does it mean to have equitable transportation design? How do we make sure our public transportation systems meet the needs of people across race, gender, class, and ability lines? Join Dr. Celeste Chavis as she shares her research on equitable transportation design and her experiences as co-chair of Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott’s Transportation and Infrastructure Transition Team. 

Bio: Dr. Celeste Chavis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Transportation & Urban Infrastructure Studies in the School of Engineering at Morgan State University. Her research interests include traffic operations, public transportation systems, policy and regulatory decisions, sustainability, and equity of transportation systems. She is particularly interested in informal transit systems and innovative transportation solutions for low density areas.
