Join us this summer for a series of fun and educational virtual events for the UMBC community.  

Students, faculty, and staff — bring your own lunch and stay connected with the UMBC academic community. 

How do professors integrate their research and classroom teaching with advocacy to create positive change? In this presentation, Nancy Kusmaul will share her professional journey, highlighting her transition from a nursing home social worker to shaping her research questions based on that experience. She will also discuss how her research findings are utilized to enhance the quality of life and care for older adults.

Bio:

Nancy Kusmaul, Ph. D, MSW is an Associate Professor in the Baccalaureate Social Work program at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She received her PhD from the University at Buffalo School of Social Work, and her Master's in Social Work from the University of Michigan. Dr. Kusmaul currently serves as President of UMBC's Faculty Senate.
