UMBC Observatory Student Worker Gwyn Ellis will be presenting on the signal-to-noise ratio. During the talk, Gwyn will highlight:
- What is SNR in photometry?
- Why do we care?
- Sources of noise
- General equation
- How to find using DS9
- Brief walkthrough of code
As with all FOTO presentations, the talk will run 30-40 minutes with 10-20 minutes each for questions and feedback.
